43rd Annual Pre-Symposium and Symposium

Meritage Resort & Spa

Napa, California

Please join us for three days Navigating the Crossroads in Family Law  for the 43rd Annual AAML Symposium from April 26-28, 2019 at the Meritage Hotel in Napa Valley.

The Friday April 26 symposium is focused on Money, Money, Money.  Topics include issues relating to equity compensation packages, reasonable compensation and how it affects business valuations, apportionment and tracing, characterizing and transferring the community interest in security in privately-held companies, and how to calculate child and spousal support on equity compensation.

We end the first day with a Welcome Reception on the Vineyard Terrace.  This Reception is open to all attendees and their guest.

Our Saturday program will feature a keynote presentation by Professor Rory Little, UC Hastings College of Law on recent changes in the U.S. Supreme Court and how it will affect the law going forward.  Over the course Saturday and Sunday presentations by renowned family law specialists, experts and Judges will discuss new tax developments, cryptocurrency, gender bias in the courtroom, child development during divorce and the effects of smart phones on custody. Both Saturday and Sunday will finish by 1pm, to allow you recreational time in the Napa/Sonoma Valley.

You don't want to miss the Saturday night special event: dinner, music and conversation at Artesa Winery  catered by the renowned Oak Avenue Caterers.  AAML will provide transportation to and from the winery to avoid any transportation issues.  Space is limited so if you plan to attend dinner, please sign up early.

To take advance of the early bird registration fees of $325 (Friday Symposium only), $600 (Saturday and Sunday symposium only) or both programs for $850, be sure to register prior to March 15.  After that date, the price goes up to $375 (Friday only), $725 (Saturday and Sunday only) or $975 (both).  Onsite pricing is listed in the registration and on the below brochure.

Hotel Accommodations are at the Meritage.  Information can be found on the below Brochure.  Be sure to reserve your accommodations early as hotel rooms at the Meritage and the surrounding area book out fast for weekends in the Napa/Sonoma Valley.
