Hon. Melinda A. Johnson (Ret.) excels at bringing divergent points of view to a workable solution, as evidenced by her leadership in consolidating the Ventura Superior and Municipal Courts while Presiding Judge of the Superior Court in 1994-1995. Judge Johnson, considered one of Ventura County’s top judges, is ranked as outstanding by the local bar association. She is widely recognized for her keen intelligence and meticulous preparation, and often has been described as a versatile, calm, compassionate, evenhanded and caring individual.

Marjorie Slabach, JD, is a Certified Family Law Specialist and retired San Francisco Superior Court Commissioner in the Unified Family Court. She is now a Private Judge focusing on case management and settlement conferences, although she also hears trials where necessary. She is a frequent lecturer and panel member educating attorneys and judges in the area of family law, with a focus on parenting issues. She was awarded the AAML NorCal Judicial Officer of the Year in 2008 and received the AAML NorCal C. Rick Chamberlain Award in 2018.

After 40 years of traditional family law practice, Roger J. Lewis, Esq. now limits his practice to family law mediation and private dispute resolution. He has conducted numerous mediations and privately adjudicated many family law matters. Mr. Lewis has been certified as a specialist in family law by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization since 1995. Mr. Lewis has extensive practice experience in all facets of family law, including business valuation and apportionment, tracing, complicated real estate and property division issues, transmutation, premarital and marital agreements, child and spousal support disputes, post-trial matters, modification of support, and parenting issues.
